Inspiring as always! I would love to hear how you go about positioning (centering) the pull on the lid. My method is to measure the length and width of the lid, subtract the length and width of the pull and divide by two. That's the amount of distance from the edge of the lid to the edge of the pull. But that's just half the battle. Now it needs to be perfectly aligned in both the X and Y axis. I use little pieces of wood double stick taped to act as guides. Then there is the glue, clamping and squeeze out to deal with. It's not an easy thing to do.
I do that as well when there is not tenon. However, I use a combination square and adjust it while checking from not sides until the pull is centered. I then put a piece of blue tape down alongside the pull. Do that for both X & Y. Blue tape locates pull after I apply glue and it’s also a little lip to butt the pull against.
An encyclopedia of ideas for handles/pulls. I’ll be saving this post for later reference!
It's always a pleasure reading these posts :-)
